About The Role

Base Location: Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow or Inverness

Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The key duties and responsibilities of the Offshore Installation Engineer are:
  • Play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of Offshore Installation expertise and governance within SSENT.
  • Provide strategic and technical input into the development of a suite of Offshore Installation Engineering policies, specifications, and guidance.
  • Provide technical assurance for the project team during preparation of contracts, subsequent tender review, and contract award of large-capital HV subsea cable installation projects.
  • Provide engineering support and quality assurance to project teams across the SSENT project portfolio during execution of all activities pertaining to offshore installation and construction; from landfall locations through to the installation vessels or marine assets.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Consenting & Environment, Quality, owners/operators of third-party asset operators), to help ensure safe project delivery which meets all SSENT’s objectives.
What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in an offshore installation design and engineering capacity and the ability to express complex technical problems and solutions to others, who may be of a less technical background.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Marine / Offshore Installation Engineering (preferably in cable, umbilical or flexible Installation) with good awareness of all aspects of subsea installation engineering.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within project teams in onshore and offshore working environments.
  • Ability to objectively and practicably balance technical risk with other competing drivers, and ultimately apply sound engineering judgement and decision making.
  • A strong ethos for health and safety in design and construction; including familiarity with industry legislation and best practice.
