The Emergency Assessment Unit ( EAU) has 3 side rooms and 4 ambulatory chairs – The purpose of the Emergency Assessment Unit is to provide 24hr telephone advice/triage and urgent care for adult patients that are receiving anti-cancer treatment and/or radiotherapy under the care of an Oncology or Haematology Consultant. EAU is situated in the middle of Ward 201 which is a 40 bedded inpatient ward for Haematology and Oncology patients receiving treatment .

There will be a requirement to utilise your skills across the whole unit according to service needs.

You will be supported in this role to develop your skills in accurately assessing patients and completing the relevant documentation to a high standard.

To apply you must be have minimum of 2 years’ experience in health care.

You must be able to recognise when escalation to a registered nurse is required.

You must be resilient and quick to adapt to situations, competent with IT skills, word, excel and also in house systems (training would be provided).

The Nursing Associate will actively contribute to the delivery of holistic and person-centered care across life-course, considering physical, psychological and public health needs, learning disabilities, social, economic, spiritual and other factors in the assessing, planning and delivery of care, under the supervision of a registered nurse. Each area will have differing skills requirements, therefore this should be reflected in subsequent area-specific training.
