Job Title: Nursery Practitioner
ESSENTIAL :
*You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required.
*Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of utmost importance.
*You preferably do not have an aversion to an environment that at times resembles the aftermath of a tornado.
*Must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work with unknown substances on your clothing or dressed up in fancy dress.
*You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved.
*You must have the ability to read a ten-page fairytale upside down with at least one interruption per page.
* You must be able to create signiture dishes from Mud or any other substance found in the garden and declare this is better than Gordan Ramsey.
*Authentically showing an interest in and curiosity for bugs and creepy crawlies is essential, even if they are your biggest fear on earth.
*You must be prepared to have a lot of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
*You must feel comfortable sitting on furniture that does not contain all of your behind.
*Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special, and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like this
Duties:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children in accordance with the curriculum
- Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child
- Provide individualised attention and support to meet the unique needs of each child
- Collaborate with other educators and parents to ensure a positive learning experience for all children
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and communicate with parents/guardians regularly
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtime, naptime, and toileting
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity
Qualifications:
- Full and Relevent level 3 early years qualification.
- Grade c / 4 or functional skills level 2 in English and Maths
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children
