Sancton Wood Nursery is housed in its own beautiful Victorian building which is perfect for nurturing and fostering relationships with our children and families. Sancton Wood aims to inspire each child to be the best they can be within a safe, happy and stimulating environment. Situated only 4 minutes’ walk from the train station it is ideally located and boasts a large garden with Forest School area. We make the nursery environment inspiring by offering lots of open-ended opportunities for learning, using natural and reclaimed resources and an emphasis on sustainability. Children are encouraged to add their imaginations and creativity, with their adventures facilitated by a team of passionate and experienced educators.

About you:

As a Qualified Nursery Nurse you will deliver the EYFS with confidence to our children. You will be expected to lead by example and have a hands-on approach, within rooms, to the ongoing delivery of exceptional care and education. A keen awareness of early years best practice is essential for this role, and you should be open to identifying ways to deliver a high quality early education for our children.

• A minimum of Level 2 qualification in childcare (must be full and relevant)

• Relevant safeguarding training and a willingness to update training regularly

• Excellent knowledge of the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage

• A passion for childcare and achieving the highest standards to ensure that every child can fulfill their potential

• A minimum of 1 years’ experience of working in a nursery

• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities and Duties include

• To provide the highest levels of care and education for all our children

• To meet the individual needs of children through child-centered learning and play

• Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our children

• Deliver high-quality practice following the EYFS, making a lasting, positive difference to children’s wellbeing, learning and development

• An ability to work on own initiative

• Support children with SEND and liaise with other professionals

• Promote the nursery to new families

• Attend staff meetings, parents evenings, open day events
