At Tranby we provide an ‘all through’ education from 3 to 18 years for both boys and girls. Every aspect of school life complements the others, and it is precisely this rounded education which produces independent and confident young people with the drive to make the most of every opportunity and a desire to make a difference in the world. Pupils in the Prep and Senior Schools have a wealth of opportunity to work on collaborative projects which support the coherent educational journey we provide.

The Croft@Tranby are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to work Monday to Friday 11:00 to 18:00 with a team of dedicated professionals in the running of their all-year-round and wrap-around Nursery provision. The successful candidate will be well qualified in Early Years childcare development and education, excited about teaching and learning in this phase, and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Please note this role is temporary from the end of January 2023 until 8 May 2023 but with the potential for this date to be extended.

Due to the needs of the school and the department, we may interview suitable candidates before the closing date. This job may also close early if a large number of applications are received. You are advised to submit your application as early as possible to avoid missing your chance to apply.

In addition to the terms of your role, the following well being opportunities are provided for staff:

  • Lunch provided each day
  • Staff discount on school fees from Reception to Y13 (permanent employees only)
  • Well being CPD as a whole school offer: yoga, mindfulness and opportunity to join the choir
  • End of term celebration events
  • Confidential care line for all staff
  • No email rule at Christmas so staff can spend quality time with their family
  • Social events and trips abroad organised informally by members of staff
  • Perkbox discount on cinema tickets, shopping and gym membership
  • New starters’ meal

What do our staff say?

“Whenever I have had a problem, I have spoken to the leadership who have listened, appreciated honesty and endeavoured to try to find a solution quickly showing understanding and sensitivity where necessary. The well being and pastoral care of the children have always been of paramount importance, and since the beginning of this school year; staff well being has been a key focus. There has been a real emphasis on embracing and developing a long-term staff well being plan."

“Teaching has changed so much over the years and there are so many demands put on us each day. However, with the positive and encouraging leadership and structures that are in place, I feel that we can only continue to move forwards for the better.”

“I love working at Tranby. There have been many changes in recent years, swift changes but relevant and positive. I feel very much part of a nurturing extended family where we all look out for each other and quickly spot where and when we need support.“

“I can honestly say that it’s the best school I’ve worked in, where morale is good and staff members feel happy to go to work every day, are those that are well managed, where each staff member is made to feel valued and has their strengths and skills identified and celebrated. This ultimately brings the best out in everyone, and creates confident and happy members of staff.”

“I have never worked in a place where staff well being is such a huge priority. The support and range of different things that are available to staff is fantastic.”
