Apple Trees is a nursery that received an Ofsted rating of ’Good’ in February 2023. We opened our doors in September 2022 and have experienced significant growth, with over 60 families joining us within just five months. We are grateful for the fantastic feedback we have received from our families. Our nursery manager is due to take maternity leave in November and we are looking for someone suitable to cover.

As a Nursery Manager, you will support the team of highly qualified practitioners, to deliver the EYFS with confidence to our children. You will be expected to lead by example and step in where needed to support your colleagues, as well as having a hands-on approach, within rooms, to the ongoing delivery of exceptional care and education.

A keen awareness of early years best practice is essential for this role, and you should be open to implementing change, exploring opportunities to improve the setting, and identifying ways to deliver a high quality early education for our children. You will need to have a solution-focused approach and excellent standards of communication to allow you to fully engage the wider team.

The pay scale of £27,873.33 – £34,007.56 per year is based on prorota of 40 hours per week.

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and skills:

  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification in childcare (must be full and relevant)
  • Relevant safeguarding training and a willingness to update training regularly
  • Excellent knowledge of the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage and Ofsted’s inspection framework
  • A passion for childcare and achieving the highest standards to ensure that every child can fulfill their potential
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience of working in a nursery
  • A minimum of 4 years’ management experience within a nursery
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities and Duties include

  • Building excellent relationships with parents and carers and developing a strong partnership between home and Nursery with our lovely families
  • Be prepared to fully throw yourself in to all activities in the nursery, helping encourage the children to express themselves creatively and support your colleagues to do the same
  • To provide a happy, supportive environment for the Nursery Team
  • Manage and encourage the team, through day-to-day guidance, training, regular supervision and appraisals.
  • Assist with recruitment
  • An ability to work on own initiative
  • Support children with SEND and liaise with other professionals
  • Ability to coordinate in specific specialist areas and liaise with Outside Agencies
  • To provide the highest levels of care and education for all our children
  • To meet the individual needs of children through child-centered learning and play
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our children
  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
  • Support the team to deliver high-quality practice following the EYFS, making a lasting, positive difference to children’s wellbeing, learning and development.
  • Promote the nursery to new families
  • Attend staff meetings, parents evenings, open day events
