Just FMCG Recruitment are working exclusively with this nationwide food manufacturer to source an NPD Technologist to join their innovative meat-free division. An NPD Technologist is required to formulate, direct and deliver commercial product development in line with Category Plans and Food Business strategy. You would be reporting to NPD Manager Main Duties & Responsibilities To work collaboratively with our chef to develop products that answer and exceed customer expectations and assist in interpreting the retailer brief To ensure that products are delivered to the correct specification satisfying consumer, customer, business, technical, commercial, operational, nutritional and process development requirements Keep up to date with trends and technological developments in food, lifestyle, packaging and ingredients Ensure that product development targets are met in reference to project timings and cost and are communicated both internally and externally Ensure the product development process is followed and that each stage is completed accurately, documented and communicated Continually benchmark and challenge standards to maintain clear differences in quality to competitors Fully understand and adhere to food safety requirements, any nutritional criteria requirements, customer codes of practice and brand standards Consider opportunities for EPD outside of standard briefs to ensure best in class Presenting to customers and site Support the NPD Manager to ensure a smooth transition of data from concept to process including project administration, costing generation, theoretical nutrition, customer submission paperwork and internal gate documentation. Organise and conduct taste panels Knowledge & Experience Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to develop effective, collaborative and influential working relationships with a range of organisations, partners and direct reports Numerate with the ability to analyse information to support and present decisions Demonstrate flexibility as work may be required outside office hours or at weekends Dynamic, high energy, pro-active approach, target driven Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organisational and time management skills Pro-active approach to problem solving, ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure within a high performance, fast moving environment Ability to commit to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database Management Ability to multi-task across a number of projects and prioritise work accordingly Enthusiasm and passion for food products/ genuine interest in the industry Driving license If you would like to learn more about this role please apply and one of the team will be in touch.
