Join Police Digital Service as a NMC Force Relationship Manager

We are looking for an experienced, customer and delivery focused Force Relationship Manager to join The National Management Centre (NMC) which is part of the Police Digital Service who provides visibility and control of information risks for Policing. It will support the 24x7x365 nature of the police operations, providing a threat detection and response capability for digital services before, during and after cyber-attacks, enabling stakeholders to understand and proactively manage risk across the technology estate at both the national and force level.

You and your team will capture new requirements from within Policing and use that information to shape the way in which the NMC delivers cybersecurity services now and in the future. You will discuss and capture customer feedback on existing services and use that information to drive continuous improvement within the NMC.

You will need to have proven experience in leading and motivating teams, the ability to build effective working relationships through clear communication and a collaborative approach.

About Police Digital Service

We exist to harness the power of digital, data and technology to enable UK policing to better protect the communities it serves. Ours is a team of experts in commercial services, technical assurance, data, digital transformation and innovation, with a unique experience in policing and national programme delivery.

Why Join us?

  • Balance is important and we want you to take time off to recharge – so we offer 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 5 years of service.
  • We care about your well-being – we have an employee assistance programme that offers not just welfare benefits and counselling at the end of a telephone line but also discounts.
  • We want to help you plan for the future – so we offer an excellent pension scheme and life assurance cover.
  • We want you to be able to put your mind at rest regarding your health – offering remote GP, mental health and physiotherapy appointments via video consultation.

The Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining effective and trusted relationships with police force representatives across England and Wales, enabling the efficient flow of information and the benefits of the NMC to be realised by forces.

  • Ensuring the efficient and economic operations of the Force Liaison Team; leading and managing performance, setting appropriate standards and addressing areas of underperformance in order to deliver on organisational objectives.
  • Working with forces and your team to develop and maintain a detailed and current understanding of the digital estate across policing, allowing the NMC to provide tailored and focused services to the forces it serves.
  • Leading the capture and assessment of future demands for NMC services, working with your colleagues within the NMC to develop operational, technical and workforce plans to ensure that these demands are effectively anticipated and met.
  • Ensuring regular dialogue with forces regarding consumption of NMC services, presenting service data and capturing feedback regarding service impact and areas for improvement.
  • Working with the rest of the NMC leadership team to ensure feedback from forces is acted upon and built into continuous improvement cycles.
  • Develop and maintain a stakeholder relationship management strategy that connects the NMC with key operational partners across law enforcement, academia, and industry
  • Supporting the delivery of NMC services as necessary with knowledge regarding the forces you liaise with. This includes contributing to cyber incident response, both in rehearsal and for real incidents.
  • Overseeing effective communication to forces and the wider stakeholder portfolio in relation to promoting awareness and understanding of the NMC.
  • Promoting the NMC as a centre of excellence for cyber-security within Policing and the wider public services sector
  • Understanding Force perspective and priorities and work cooperatively with them to deliver the best possible service
