Fleet Associate (Night) - London

We are for looking for a trustworthy, hardworking and reliable individual to join Zipcar in the role of Fleet Associate (Night). The Fleet Operations Team is the first point of contact for any issue involving a vehicle – we’re responsible for ensuring that every member booking a Zipcar will turn up to find a clean, roadworthy vehicle in its correct location. When anything involving a vehicle goes wrong, we act fast to minimise the negative impact on members, vehicle downtime and costs. You will be attending to Zipcars across London and completing a variety of logistics and maintenance tasks to ensure that vehicles are ready for members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out Safety and Readiness checks
  • Distributing permits, vehicle collateral and other materials
  • Test driving vehicles and reporting back to the Fleet team with observations and findings
  • Moving vehicles between bays, including between London and other UK cities
  • Basic vehicle maintenance, to be carried out roadside at night. Including – charging batteries, plugging in electric vehicles, replacing tyres, wing mirrors, wiper blades, fuses and bulbs.
  • Reacting to urgent requests for assistance from the office night team

Requirements & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • A good understanding of basic vehicle maintenance and a working knowledge of London geography
  • Experience driving and working in London at night
  • Confidence working independently, without daily contact with other team members
  • Ability to identify, prioritize and focus on critical tasks. Work individually as a self-starter and a self-motivated team member
  • Confidence to make judgment calls on the best course of action, weighing up cost and member experience, often alone and under pressure
  • Strong written and oral communications skills with a good grasp of the English language
  • Flexible and accommodating in the face of a changing workload and able to come up with creative solutions to new and existing problems
  • Held a full driver’s license for a minimum of 2 years, with no more than 3 points.

Hours: 40hrs per week,5-night shifts per week, typically between 9pm-6am.

Shift pattern rotating:

Week 1: 4 days on- 2 days off – 1 day on.

Week 2: 1 day off- 5days on – 1day off.
