JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Night Concierge

Hours27.5 hours a week on a rota – 7pm to 3am
Monday to Friday
Saturday and Sunday

Responsible to: Housing Co-ordinator

Date: April 2023

Join a close-knit team, working together to provide Supported Housing to residents experiencing mental health problems in Herefordshire.

Housing in Mind provides accommodation for people who may require a little extra practical and emotional support to maintain and sustain a tenancy. We provide a range of bedsits or shared flats in Hereford. The support we provide aims to help the individual identify they want in order to achieve their ambitions and goals.

As Night Concierge, you will be helping to create a safe, secure and clean and well-maintained environment and some housing support to residents

PURPOSE OF THE POST:

To provide a safe, secure, clean and well-maintained environment for tenants and their visitors. Support residents to seek appropriate support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tenant Support

  • To present a professional, positive and friendly image to all residents and visitors.
  • To greet and direct all visitors and make them feel welcome.
  • To provide emotional support to residents and help them to seek appropriate out of hours support.
  • To complete well being checks on all residents and record on the client record system.
  • To respond to, record and report all incidents, as appropriate
  • To be responsible for the emergency phone using it appropriately, either to contact on-call, or emergency services, based on risk assessing particular incidents.
  • To record interactions with clients using record management system.
  • To ensure all confidential client information is secure, and data protection procedures are followed,
  • To read and make accurate and detailed handover notes in the log book.

Night Concierge – Housing in Mind

Household Management

  • To ensure all communal and staff areas and office space are clean and tidy.
  • To update cleaning equipment and materials stock sheets.

Facilities and Health and Safety Management

  • To co-ordinate, instruct and allow access for services to the building as appropriate.
  • To ensure that the building is safe and secure at all times, regularly monitoring CCTV and patrolling the building
  • To take responsibility for key safe storage security
  • To carry out regular health and safety checks including
  • Fire doors
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Emergency Lighting
  • Water Temperature Monitoring
  • Water Flushing
  • To record and report any concerns in relation to maintenance issues or repairs.

STANDARD RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure that you are familiar with and comply with all organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements governing the organisation.
  • To work in accordance with health and safety legislation ensuring you are aware of your personal responsibility for health and safety
  • To be committed to improvements, innovation, and advances in supporting practices and approaches in mental health.
  • To work within confidentiality applying the principles of data protection and record-keeping and data-sharing, and compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • To always promote the organisation and its values and beliefs to maintain its good reputation.
  • To take responsibility for your own personal and professional development
  • To offer suggestions, advice, and comments towards continuous improvement in a structured and constructive way
  • To carry out any other duties commensurate with the role, as required.

This post will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check
