Quality Control Section LeaderPay Rate: £35 per hour (assignment rate)

Location:Mansfield

Contract Type: Locum – 3 Months

Shift Pattern:37.5 hours per week 09:00 am - 17:30 pm (flexible working will be considered)

Duties:

  • Provide high quality situational response, in the provision of pharmaceutical QC services to all users of the service, both internal and external
  • Interpret national legalisation and guidelines to ensure that the Production Section follows the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Act as the named Quality Controller on the Manufacturer’s “Specials” (MS) Licence and to undertake any necessary duties associated with the manufacturing activities undertaken to ensure compliance with its MS Licence issued by the “Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
  • Monitor and determine the standards (required by the GMP and MS Licence) producing relevant data on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, as appropriate, so as to ensure the air and physical environment the equipment used within the production unit, staff members’ aseptic and technical skills, procedures and systems of work meet expected and nationally defined standards
  • Monitor and quality control all ingredients and products produced e.g. batches of prepacked tablets under the MS Licence, ensuring that they conform with the Licence and external customer requirements
  • Undertake and be involved in Quality Assurance matters associated with relevant Medicines Management issues
  • Participate in the research, training and teaching activities of the department as appropriate

Requirements of theQuality Control Section Leader:

  • Have a vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or a suitable relevant science degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology or biochemistry
  • Be registered with the relevant professional body e.g. Royal Pharmaceutical Society or be a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry or Member of the Institute of Biology
  • Knowledge of GMP and legislation relating to MS Licence
  • Experience of working in a GMP environment
  • Demonstrate sufficient competence and experience in Quality Control matters gained by typically working in Quality Control/Assurance activities
