The New Building and Technical Executive Operations Manager will work closely with the President of MSC Cruise Management, as well as our esteemed senior management team in Cruise Operations. Together, they will provide vital support for the execution of MSC Cruise Management’s operational strategies.

This position provides a unique opportunity within our growing organisation, and an exciting role involving travel to shipyards and other locations of importance to ensure the successful delivery of our busy agenda.

  • English fluency, additional languages are useful - but not essential.
  • University degree in Naval Engineering or Naval Architecture preferred
  • Experience working in the Cruise Industry
  • Strong shipyard experience is essential.
  • Professional use of Microsoft Office
  • Great communicator, able to simplify complexity.
  • Able to influence behaviours with tact and professionalism.

  • New Building Operations - Shipyard Visits and Reporting – You will visit our international shipyards on a regular basis, working closely with the site teams and the technical functions, to evaluate opportunities for continuous improvement and ensuring best practices are implemented and followed. This exposure will be used to ensure the senior management team is informed about construction progress, plans, and development VS delivery plans – to ensure that we remain on course with business objectives.
  • Leading inter-disciplinary projects on behalf of the President’s Office aimed at optimising resources, time and quality of our fleet and new building operations, in collaboration with the wider MSC Group companies.
  • Coordinating High-level Meetings – You will be responsible for attending and organizing important technical management meetings. This will include local meetings with our peripheral business units, as well as meetings with external strategic vendors and partners, and with our HQ in Geneva.
  • Creating Executive Presentations – Your role will involve preparing strategic and operational presentations for our top executives and stakeholders. These presentations will well utilise your expertise in maritime and technical matters and will include inter-disciplinary contents from all the new building and fleet operations departments.
  • International Company Representation – as part of the dynamic nature of this role you will have the opportunity to travel frequently. You will both accompany the President on business trips, as well as travelling on behalf of the President.
