National Sales Manager – Heavy Plant and CranesJob Title: National Sales Manager – Heavy Plant and CranesIndustry Sector: Construction Hire and Sale, Regional Developers, Timber Frame Sub Contractors, House Builders, Hire industry, Cranes and Heavy Plant HireArea to be covered: National, ideally based centrallyRemuneration: £50,000-£60,000 + £10,000 BonusBenefits: Fully expensed hybrid car + benefits packageThe role of the National Sales Manager – Heavy Plant and Cranes will involve:
  • Field sales man management role, responsible for two external and one internal sales people
  • Selling the hire of cranes, typical weekly rate of £500-£1,500 per crane
  • 80% account development, 20% new business development
  • Targeted to achieve team target of circa 3,000 hire weeks
  • 20% man management, 80% sales role
  • Personal target likely to be around 600-700 hire weeks (£2,000-£3,000 per week for large cranes, £400-£500 for smaller cranes)
  • Initially responsible for £4.5m revenue, tasked with achieving £5m this year
  • Fantastic telemarketing support from dedicated Internal Sales Manager
  • Targeting regional and national housebuilders, main contractors and specialist sub contractors such timber frame sub contractors, (national house builders strategically approached through structured procurement process at corporate level)
  • Large proportion of time will be spent on construction sites, conducting site surveys and quotes
  • Understanding site layout drawings and specifying up cranes for clients
The ideal applicant will be a National Sales Manager Heavy Plant & Cranes with:
  • Proven field sales track record selling into the construction hire or sale industry
  • Experience of having sold the hire of cranes or heavy plant is not essential
  • Previous man management is not essential
  • Ability to mentor and lead sales team in a hard construction selling environment
  • Highly organised/ strong administration
  • Previous experience of selling to construction sites
  • Comfortable with occasional overnight stays as and when required
  • Open to related products such as; formwork, mobile cranes, falsework, diggers, dumpers, forklifts, excavators, platforms, generators, mast climbers etc
  • Strong territory management skills
  • Motivated, keen to learn, £ hungry and autonomous
