We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of Multi-Skilled Engineer.

Main Purpose of Role

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing essential equipment support to all maintenance-related activities within the Soapworks factory. Working in a small team of engineers you will be responsible for carrying out all levels of preventive maintenance and responding to equipment failures as required. You will also to be involved with project tasks that are engineering biased.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner
  • Carry out die changes, tool set-ups, and any machine adjustments as required
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and condition monitoring activities of plant and equipment ensuring optimum production performance, minimising equipment downtime through a proactive approach to all continuous improvement strategies
  • Undertake self-development activities as required
  • Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis studies
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and engineering hygiene
  • Actively comply with health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for self and others

Education/Qualifications

  • HNC/HND in mechanical engineering required (or equivalent).

Experience/Skills/Knowledge

  • Proven experience as a qualified maintenance engineer operating in a fast-paced production factory that uses a vast array of common mechanical systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, pumping systems, transmission systems etc.
  • The ability to work on their own, or as a fully integrated member of the team
  • MMA and MIG Welding skills, machining and turning would be advantageous
  • A basic understanding of electrical power and control systems is expected

  • Teamworking skills

Other job requirements

  • Driving licence is desirable but not essential

Salary: £30,231.95 + 14% shift allowance

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday rotating day and backshift (6am - 2pm M-F, 2pm - 11pm M-Th and 2pm - 5.45pm F)
