What’s happening?

The video team at Weber Shandwick creates award-winning video and animation content for a global roster of clients including Microsoft, Mars Inc., Novartis, Lilly, Unilever, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Roche, Nespresso and many more. Working closely with the client and in-house creative and strategy teams, we develop cross-platform content from initial inception to delivery.

We’re a close-knit team of creative producers, editors, animators and shooters. We are passionate about filmmaking, inside and outside of the office, and we’re always looking at ways to learn and evolve our work.

We are looking for a Motion Designer to join our growing team, reporting to the Post-Production Lead. Our designers are flexible and creative, often leading projects, so you should have experience in producing treatments, storyboards and scripting. A strong knowledge of animation production workflows is also a must.

You should always be thinking about story and shareability, earned/owned approaches, how videos will gain impactful results and how they will contribute to the overall campaign strategy.

We’re a busy team so you must be able to remain calm and professional in pressured situations while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.

What will you be doing?

  • Excellent AFX and Cinema 4D skills.
  • Good Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop knowledge.
  • A keen eye for design aesthetics, typography and identify the latest trends in Motion Graphics.
  • Good Storyboarding skills.
  • Strong editorial judgment and awareness of current motion and post-production trends.
  • Able to receive a brief and assets and deliver a final product - work without guidance and suggest creative solutions.
  • Organise Media into relevant groups, back up and log work chronologically and clearly.
  • The ability to present creative solutions to achieve communication goals – flair for story-telling.
  • A basic-good grasp of After Effects Expressions, Parent-Child Layering, Dynamic Link between Premiere and After Effects.
  • Experience of using Render Farms for Cinema 4D and sometimes After Effects.
  • The ability to understand and implement Brand Guidelines.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Production Team, as well as those in Account Management, Creative, Design and Strategy.
  • Provide assistance and support to other editors and animators (inc. Freelancers)
  • Flexible, positive and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good grasp of the English language, any secondary language would be a bonus.

Who are you?

  • Previous experience creating motion-led content for social media platforms, brand websites and TVCs, ideally with some time spent at an agency.
  • An outstanding showreel demonstrating a variety of motion styles, as well as an in depth understanding of various software packages and their respective workflows.
  • Passionate about visual story-telling with an eye to match.
  • Design sensibility and flair for on-screen graphics and typography.
  • Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment whilst managing multiple projects in parallel.
  • Highly organised and aware of edit/animation workflow/pipeline and best practice.
  • A creative thinker who can bring their own ideas to the table on how best to execute the campaign.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including developing treatments to sell in creative to clients.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, listen to and share ideas.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Inquisitive and hungry to develop personal skillset as well as grow the level of work for the agency.
  • Friendly, open and generous to your colleagues. As mentioned, we’re a close-knit bunch and do our best work when we collaborate.
