Fareham

Our client, a growing financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Underwriting & Completions Consultant to join their team.

Job Purpose

The key purpose of this role is to facilitate and progress mortgage applications to completion, within the assigned mandate level, in line with the Bank’s operating procedures and policies and to be responsible for reviewing and responding to all post offer correspondence for long term lending applications.

Core Responsibilities

• To be responsible for delivering a high-quality service to brokers, solicitors and customers.
• To control the release of completion funds, ensuring customer funds reach solicitors in time for completion
• Proactively deal with Solicitors, liaising with Legal & Compliance to ensure our interests are protected at all times
• Where applicable, demonstrate ability to us a personal lending mandate appropriately across all lending streams with sound rationale and exemplary quality assurance
• Communicate with intermediaries on declined cases, handle objections and provide objective feedback to any questions
• Provide telephone support as required to ensure customer service standards are managed and maintained
• Manage escalations and resolve technical queries from other team members
• Respond to complaints within SLA’s seeking advice and guidance from Senior Underwriters where necessary
• Identify any potential fraudulent activity and escalate any concerns to Senior Underwriters, Line Managers or Compliance Department immediately
• Follow and keep up to date with current best practice and regulatory requirements

Experience Required

• Previous experience in a mortgage administration or underwriting or underwriting support role
• Previous experience of working within the financial services industry is essential

Knowledge Required

• Detailed knowledge of FCA regulations re mortgages is essential

Skill and Competency Requirements.

• Intermediate skills in respect of using Microsoft applications (in particular Word and Excel) are essential.

Required Qualifications/Certifications

• GSCE/GCE qualifications in both Maths and English are essential.

This is an office-based role and as such candidates must within a commutable distance of Fareham.
