About the role

On our Materials Recycling Facility in Waterbeach, we are looking to recruit a Mobile Plant Operator who will be able to efficiently run the operation of mobile plant. This is a 24 hour operation and you will be working 4 on, 4 off, either days or nights (but not both), 6-6.
The annual salary is circa £21,500
In this role you will:
  • Follow health, safety, environment and quality policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Carry out pre-use checks and recording via our system Checkedsafe.
  • Verbally report any safety critical defects to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Add defects and damages to Checkedsafe when they occur during shift.
  • Report close calls, property damage and environmental incidents to the Shift Supervisor
  • Complete relevant work orders during daily cleaning downtime.
  • Log relevant damages and breakdowns on Pirana Asset Management System.
  • Daily maintenance/cleaning of mobile plant as per user manual and Shift Supervisor instruction.
  • Manage output materials effectively to ensure quality is not compromised.
  • Manage output materials effectively to maximise recycling rates.
  • Load waste onto lorries.
  • Load the plant hopper.
  • Manage third-party hauliers.
  • Manage waste stockpiles (baled, loose and contained) according to instruction.
  • Clear bales from baler.
  • Emptying containers when full.
  • Measure moisture data for all fibre loads.
  • Accurate recording of material weights and destinations when transferring material between departments.
  • Take photos required for compliance paperwork.
  • Record bale production
