As a Mobile Patrol Officer for G4S, variety is guaranteed. Your day-to-day duties will adapt to meet the demand of the business and will ensure no two days are exactly the same.
You’ll be the first port-of-call in ensuring the safety of our customers and clients based across a collection of sites across the wider Edinburgh area, with full site training and support every step of the way. As a Mobile Patrol Officer, you will join our team on a 45 hour per week contract to earn £23,229 annually with plenty of opportunity for overtime.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Previous experience in security is not a must, but if you’re already working in the industry, or have before, we welcome you to join our team. We know you’ll get off to a flying start!
We also welcome people who have worked previously in retail, travel, sales, recruitment or hospitality - jobs that rely on delivering great service. If you’ve done this type of work before, then you may have skills that would suit and as we provide full training, we’ll help you pivot your skills into a new career.
A typical shift will begin at our vehicle base, arriving for your shift to check Other elements of the role will include:
- Checking the company vehicles are safe and operational ahead of shift start
- Site unlocking and locking
- Scheduled patrols of customer premises
- Inspections of vacant properties
- Response to alarm activations as direct by control room teams
- Dealing with any security incidents on site and completing relevant incident report forms
- Any additional ad-hoc security duties as required
