Mid-Weight Interior Designer

Our client is an award winning design and fit-out company with a very impressive portfolio of projects. They have offices in Bath which is a lovely town to work in and the company has a fantstic culture. They champion good busimess and look after there staff making them a very popular company to involved with.

They are on the lookout for a creative Mid Weight Interior Designer with 3 year’s experience working on commercial workplace design projects. The successful candidate will be expected to run multiple project simultaneously, manage their own time as well as the time of more junior design members.

This is a studio based role, and a Mid Weight designer you would be expected to spend time in the studio to provide support to less experienced designers, manage creative processes and attend and run face to face client meetings and pitches when the need arises.

Key Responsibilities:

Extract, interrogate and challenge client brief.

Work with Project Lead to map out design and pitch presentation combined with compelling storytelling.

Enthusiastically, confidently, and passionately communicate and present design concepts and captivate the audience.

Design innovatively, to a high standard and within budget constraints.

Represent the company independently.

Manage workload effectively and efficiently.

Undertake thorough and accurate building surveys.

Produce detailed construction drawing packages that accurately reflect the agreed scope of works.

Attend internal resource, workshops and handover meetings.

Have a broad overview and understanding of building regulations. Successfully implement this into design concepts and builds. Guide and teach less experienced designers to understand building regulations.

Specify products and finishes that are appropriate to the design concept and within budget.

Effectively and persuasively present commercial benefits of design and choices to clients.

Engage, encourage, and inspire design team.

Share knowledge, experience, and advice with less experienced design team members.

Organise appropriate CPDs and product seminars.

Actively participate in development of the business.

Represent and promote the company culture and brand.

Take charge of, organise and mentor the Student Intern programme.

Qualifications and Training:

Interior Design or Interior Architecture Degree
