Overview

Our Utilities business is currently undergoing some exciting & positive changes which has opened the opportunity for us to recruit for the new position of MI & Systems Analyst. We are looking for an enthusiastic technically minded individual, who will work with our team, to ensure we deliver a strong employee experience to our stakeholders. Focus will be on service delivery and data, ensuring this is accurate, secure and used in a way to improve business performance.

This position is a full-time permanent role and will consist of a hybrid working pattern with both working from home & working at our central hub in Chorley.

What will this role involve?

  • Responsibility for MI, system governance and the projects, support an processes within the function
  • Analytical thought leadership - you will have the capacity to identify and resolve issues, as well as being able to highlight trends within data to help inform business decisions.
  • Accountable for maintaining and updating the budgeted organisation structure in the HR system through effective position management
  • Ensure the system approvals reflect the company governance and approval processes. Seek to identify continuous improvement developments
  • Monitor and manage data workflows to ensure cases are closed timely and in line with governance
  • Gather, organise, summarise and analyse a variety of raw data sets identifying patterns or trends within the data sets
  • Working with stakeholders in IT & Finance to create system upgrades and innovative implementations
  • Creating business reports and board packs to provide analytics and trends to help inform business decisions
  • Involvement in projects and providing supporting data sets to assist with process improvements
  • Provide proactive technical support to internal colleagues, system super users with issues and resolutions in relation to ESS/MSS
  • Provide employee/manager system training at points in time e.g. if systems are upgraded or reconfigured, or rolling out training to new starters/when we mobilise a new contracts
  • Involvement in business initiatives by providing relevant dashboards that measure targets and achievements
  • This role will be key in helping to shape and design the new HR system, including our approach and service delivery to the business.

What are we looking for?


  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, advanced formulas etc.)
  • Data transformation and analysis
  • Position management
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Input into the design and direction of platforms as well as the creation
  • Adhoc query and transactions used to extract from people systems
  • SQL and Dayforce system experience is desirable
  • Ideally have experience working in a HR Shared Service environment
