Job content

We are searching for a Merchandising Assistant to join our busy Merchandising team at Neptune. You’ll amass lots of commercial experience with a luxury designer brand well known across UK and Europe for its beautiful home furnishings. Not only will you deal with suppliers around the world but you’ll also work closely with our own supply chain, which starts with our talented manufacturing team in Asia.
The commercial life cycle of everything we sell is the responsibility of our merchandising department. Each team member is a specialist in a specific product area, and on any given day they may be tracking stock, organising our supply chain or analysing sales and margins. They’re big fans of spreadsheets, continually looking at data to help us make the right decisions, and then passing their findings on to the rest of the company.
The Role
At Neptune, the pace is fast, fun and collaborative which underpins life in our Merchandising team. They’re a savvy and commercially aware bunch, always thinking ahead of the game to manage stock levels to meet financial targets and ensure our ever-growing collections of luxury furniture, stunning kitchens and home accessories are in the right place at the right time.
You and what you need

Skills

As you begin your journey into the world of merchandising at Neptune, here’s just a few of the important skills we are looking for

It’s not all about number crunching though.
  • With an exceptional eye for detail, you’ll analyse sales, trading and stock trends along with monitoring product shipping dates.
  • Your natural affinity for working with statistics and spreadsheets, backed up by intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel, will really be put to the test.
  • Confident interpersonal skills will really help too, as you’ll communicate with lots of people who are critical to ensuring that goods are received on time.
  • An organised approach to reporting on container load plans, purchase orders, packing lists, invoices and lots more is an absolute must.
Life here moves quickly and you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm and drive along with a "can-do" attitude and a desire to "get stuck in". That said, you’ll need to be methodical, have a love of numbers and be a complete whizz on MS Excel, but most importantly aspire to deliver above and beyond the call of duty.
What we can offer
In return, we can offer training and personal development and a clear progression path within the team. Our offices are truly stunning plus we offer a competitive salary and a fantastic range of benefits. To apply now, please send your CV and current salary details to us.
We’re fortunate to receive hundreds and hundreds of applications every week and while we try to respond to every email, the sheer volume sometimes makes that difficult. So, if you don’t hear from us within 14 days, this means your application hasn’t been successful, but we thank you very much for your interest in our company.
