The Brand, Strategy and Planning team is responsible for setting our overarching Brand, Marketing and Communications long term strategy, translating it into briefs for transformational, creative and distinctive activity, and measuring the effectiveness of our outputs.The media manager is responsible for developing the overarching media calendar for EY UK across paid media, ensuring a coherent omnichannel plan that optimises effectiveness and ROI. You will be fundamental to ensuring we deliver our intended outcomes and to interface daily with both internal stakeholders and our agencies and partners.The Media Manager will:
  • Overarching media strategy
    • Deliver against the UK BMC media strategy across paid, earned and owned channels, with emphasis on paid channels.
    • Support in defining objectives and success metrics for all channels
    • Contribute to development of the 3 year BMC strategy and annual plans
  • EY UK media plans
    • Developing and maintaining a calendar overview of plans across paid, earned and owned media for all UK activity and ensuring that it is fully understood across the BMC team
    • Ensuring that calendar is optimised to ensure maximum impact across all activity, targeting the right audiences at the right times, through the right channels and avoiding cannibalisation or over-communication
    • Using data and insight to make regular recommendations to the Marketing and Activation team and the Brand Strategy and Planning team about alterations and additions to the plan
    • Maintain understanding of Global media plans, report on UK implications and make recommendations for further UK investment as appropriate
  • Media campaign delivery
    • Work with BMC teams to ensure that media briefs are optimised with the right objectives and audience insight to drive the most powerful agency responses, and consistent with the overarching media plan
    • Manage media agencies through day-to-day delivery of campaigns
  • Media agency relationships
    • Ongoing analysis and recommendations on UK media agency requirements to deliver the BMC UK plan
    • Manage relationships with UK media agencies, maximising the impact of external strategic consultancy to ensure the best possible outcomes
  • Media optimisation and measurement
    • Ensure that teams have put all requirements in place to measure according to the BMC evaluation framework
    • Work with the Measurement and Metrics lead and BMC Marketing & Activation leads to ensure that all learnings from campaign evaluation are fed through into the development of future activity
  • Media innovation
    • Maintain knowledge of latest developments in media innovation in the UK and engage the BMC team to build understanding of potential as relevant
  • Media budget management
    • Monitor and control media and agency spend to budget
Skills And Attributes For Success
  • Proven track record in planning media activities for a significant brand, with accountability for developing and ensuring delivery of an overarching plan
  • A breadth of experience across all UK media channels, with recent experience of areas to include developing digital ecosystems, ongoing implementation of optimisation learnings, a view on digital targeting and retargeting, experience with programmatic and TV planning.
  • B2B experience is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work within a large matrix organisation, engaging multiple stakeholders with the best creative practice (experience of working on a professional services brand would be desirable, but not essential and we will consider candidates from all backgrounds)
  • A strong commercial drive and the ability to deliver high-value activities that deliver return on investment, ensuring alignment with brand and risk management
  • Time and project management skills – highly organised with a sound attention to detail and an ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Proven experience; or a degree (or equivalent) with business experience
  • A good understanding of campaign principles, coupled with
  • An enthusiastic, can do approach and a strong team player
  • Comfortable with fact-based decision making
To qualify for the role, you must haveEducation:
  • A degree in Marketing/or a business-related degree; or 5 years + equivalent work experience
Experience:
  • 3-5 years experience either agency side or in-house, with at three years’ experience in managing/setting marketing briefs and managing media agencies
