MECHATRONICS, ICT & VISION SALES LEADER

ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?


Reporting to the UK Business Development Manager, driving our Mechatronics and Vision business development for the UK. The role will have responsibility to drive and establish our Mechatronics business alongside building on the established Vision Solutions offer.


Working within the Routeco Business Development team, the role is focused on generating new business within our existing and net new customers. Through providing technical knowledge, advice and pre-sales support to external customers by understanding their specific needs and future plans.

We are looking for someone ideally with business development experience and prior knowledge and passion for selling Mechatronic and Vision solutions, as well as specific third-party products that complement the overall offering. The candidate will have a broad interest in engineering and will also be prepared to embrace new and innovative products and talk about them to our customers.


The role calls for a person who enjoys interacting with people, creating and maintaining relationships, as well as making a good impression both personally and for the organisation.


Responsibilities


    • To develop and own the strategy for Routeco Mechatronics, ICT & Vision solutions in their entirety and ensuring this is communicated across the Routeco sales teams.
    • Drive the Mechatronics, ICT & Vision team to be proactive in generating new and net new opportunities, through engagement with the sales teams or the teams individual market research of new prospects.
    • Overall ownership of Routeco Mechatronics, ICT & Vision solution number across the business.
    • Develop the team to work with Routeco sales teams on all Mechatronics, ICT & Vision opportunities.
    • Engage with marketing team to promote all solutions across UK business including digital and social media.
    • Work with the business to develop processes to maximise any opportunity.
    • To maintain and continually update Routeco business units on the current Mechatronics, ICT & Vision solutions strategy, ensuring the desired level of sales and profitability are achieved in line with the Company’s goals and objectives.
    • Share project information across the other vertical teams to maximise the Routeco opportunity in account.
    • Lead by example demonstrating a proactive attitude to continuous personal development in terms of product/solution knowledge and skills development.
    • Portray a professional image at all times
    • Be accountable for personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with Routeco’ s core competencies and learning and development framework
    • Take on additional tasks in order to meet departmental, project related or developmental objectives.
    • Comply with H&S policy and procedures
    • Demonstrate effective territory planning and effective use of external and internal sales resources to maximise customer contact.
    • Liaise with Regional Sales Leader’s, OEM Solutions, End User Consultants and Account Managers to ensure collaborative approach.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO ROUTECO?


  • A good standard of education is required, particularly in Maths & English.
  • It is important job holder should have the persistence and flexibility to see a job through to conclusion.
  • Experience in mechatronics and ICT is required.
  • The ability to make favourable impressions on others will be an important attribute.
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and exhibit awareness of commercial conditions.
  • Experience in similar product support / customer service environment is preferable.
  • A good level of education is required; HNC/HND in electrical engineering (or equivalent electrical engineering qualification) would be advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of Automation, Control and architecture would be advantageous.
  • Ability to provide practical solutions, solve problems and look for continuous improvements for both the customer and the company.
  • This is a solution sales role so candidates must have the ability to be able to sell the benefits of the proposal to the customer.
  • Influencing and motivational skills are critical requirements for the role.
  • Good day to day planning capabilities are essential to achieve performance goals.
  • The role holder will be required to stand up to assertive challenges from others.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work comfortably at director level.
