To ensure that the BSC Diecasting plant and process equipment is available when required, for the manufacture and supply of our products to the required specification and delivery schedule in a safe, timely, efficient and legally compliant manner.

To ensure that the same operates with the highest levels of reliability when production is scheduled.

To affect the above with an emphasis on the mechanical systems of plant, equipment and buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within the Maintenance Team to:
  • Learn about current die casting machine fault finding and repair
  • As above for Press, CNC, Drillers, Tapper and rumble de-burr plant.
  • Site improvements
  • Process improvement

Future prospects

The ownership has aggressive growth plans for BSC and other companies within the group. Since 2015 BSC has increased yearly sales from £2.5m per year to £8m per year and this trend is planned to continue.

The person successfully training in this role will become an integral part of the business in the coming years with the potential to become part of the senior leadership team.

The company are prepared to support individual with internal mentoring from an industry expert and provide further task specific external training to continue the personnel development of the successful candidate beyond the initial period of the apprenticeship.

About the employer

The finish on any product is only as good as the underlying casting. That’s why BSC has developed a unique expertise in producing zinc and aluminium die castings that are optimised for surface coating.

We have a particular focus on creating castings of exactly the right design, porosity and chemical composition so that they can be plated, powdered, polished or painted to a flawless finish. We excel in the most challenging projects and are proud to be able to produce the largest zinc die castings in Europe. We have the capability to cast up to 3.5kg in zinc and 7kg in aluminium.
