Because of continued demand of their services, this employer is actively recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

Based near Castleford just a few minutes from the M62, this business is easily commutable from surrounding towns and cities including Pontefract, Wakefield, Leeds, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Wetherby, Doncaster and Barnsley.

The Mechanical Technician will:

  • Ideally come with formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering or similar (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND or equivalent) – NOT ESSENTIAL and time-served candidates will also be considered
  • Have stable work history with experience working as a Mechanical Technician, Technician, Assembler or similar within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Come with strong knowledge and experience working with mechanical rotating equipment (Gearboxes, Motors, Pumps, Valves etc.)
  • Have experience dismantling, inspecting, fault finding, re-building/assembling and testing mechanical rotating equipment

Working Hours of the Mechanical Technician:
Regular day shift working 39 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday – 08:00 to 17:00
  • Friday – 08:00 to 15:45

Flexibility to occasionally work on site is required (minimal)

In return, the Mechanical Technician will receive:

  • Base Salary: Between £25,000 – £27,000 depending on experience
  • Annual Bonuses: Up to £2000 per annum
  • Generous Pension Scheme: 25% Final Salary
    • Employer Contribution: 17%
    • Employee Contribution: 8%
  • Holiday Allowance: 34 Days (including public holidays) rising with continued service
