AVL Powertrain UK Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic engineer to join our thriving Design Department. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of engine mechanical systems.

This will be done through conducting engine level risk analysis and support the mechanical validation team in executing the engine test plan. As part of an international cross-functional team, you will investigate system level trade-offs, to ensure world class engine durability performance.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Carry out machine and engine test data analysis to develop technical objectives and identify system level risks
  • Assess and resolve current product issues
  • Support the creation and maintenance of engine system level FMEA’s and facilitate DVP execution
  • Work with component engineers, test engineers, suppliers, and customers, to validate and verify engine systems and components
  • Translate DVP results to product capability and application sign-off requirements

YOUR PROFILE:


Essential:
  • BEng in Mechanical/Automotive or related Engineering discipline
  • Good knowledge of combustion engine fundamentals
  • Systems Engineering Approach
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills using a structured approach
- Product development experience - system demonstration phase to production
  • Experience of writing DFMEA’s and facilitating teams
  • Process driven
  • Excellent inter-personnel and communication skills
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of large and small teams
  • Will be expected to conduct data analysis as part of issue investigation
  • Methodological approach
Preferable:
  • Masters or PhD in specific subject area preferred
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools
  • Knowledge and experience of specifying diesel engine attributes and components
  • Off-highway engine experience
  • Understanding of worldwide emissions legislation
  • Product life cycle management
  • Bill of material management

Annual Remuneration: Due to UKVI compliance requirements, we are obligated to state the annual gross salary (full-time) for this position. The salary range is between £37,000 - £43,000 and we will offer market-conforming remuneration taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
