Are you a skilled Maintenance Fitter with a passion for mechanical engineering? Do you thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment? If so, Interaction Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client’s team as a Maintenance Fitter at their Hexham facility.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our client’s machinery and equipment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Planned, Reactive, and Preventive Maintenance on a range of plant machinery.
  • Performing maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, convert machines, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Contributing to the efficiency and productivity of the plant by addressing maintenance issues promptly.
  • Collaborating with the team to identify areas for improvement and suggesting appropriate solutions.
  • Being flexible to participate in an on-call rota, including weekends (approximately 1 in 4), and overtime as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG & ARC welding is a plus.
  • Forklift driving experience is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with steam systems is desirable.
