  • Reviewing and analysing legacy designs (2D drawing packs and 3D models), producing technical reports and identifying suitable actions.
  • Work with theteam to perform classical engineering analysis on designs including stress, fatigue & vibration using conventional analysis and computer simulation.
  • Confirm bills of materials are accurate and maintained, ensuring materials are specified correctly and are suitable for the job.
  • Integrate all required procedures during the review and update stages, including Specification Documents, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), BOM & Design reviews, routings, drawing and modelling standards.
  • Regulate design standards through a controlled and authorised revision system (PDM Vault).
  • Perform lab testing for verification and conformance of design modifications/improvements.
  • Support the engineering manager with NPI. What’s important to us?
  • Bachelor’s degree in physics or mechanical Engineering (BSc / BEng) (master’s level of attainment preferred)
  • Expert in mechanical design with innovative design skills in Electro-Mechanical mechanisms.
  • Proven track record and deep understanding in the use of Computer Aided Design Packages (Solidworks / AutoCAD)
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in Design Engineering in an Engineering Manufacturing / OEM Organisation.
  • High level of familiarity with industry control standards, BSI, ISO, IATF, AS9000
  • High level of working knowledge of industry quality assurance and measurement processes, PPAP, FMEA, FAIR etc.
  • Experienced in the use of Finite Element Analysis to model and evaluate key variables within a product, using Ansys or similar.
