Mechanical Design Engineer (Medical Devices, Sensors, Women’s Health)

Our client is a fast-growing medical devices start-up that combines technical, clinical and management expertise to develop advanced medical sensors for an innovative monitoring device for women’s health.

They are now seeking an experienced medical devices Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the product development from the current concept / prototype stage through to final product.

Due to the nature of the product and the positioning of the role within the company, applications from female candidates would be particularly welcome.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop the product requirements to ISO13485
  • Develop the engineering strategy.
  • Plan the product conceptualisation and contribute design ideas.
  • Convert concepts into preliminary designs.
  • Oversee the overall development plan and process
  • Analyse product performance
  • Harness existing knowledge to achieve product development
  • Understanding of current biomedical sensor development.
  • Provide innovative solutions

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in BioMedical Engineering or similar
  • 5 – 10 years Medical Device industry experience to ISO13485
  • Electronic sensors
  • Commercially aware
  • R&D or start-up environment
  • Technically competent
  • Able to work within a small team.
