Located in Andover, Hampshire, their 3 manufacturing facilities comprises 80,000sq ft of modern production space to meet customers’ needs.PURPOSE OF ROLETheir power micro-electronics packaging facility is at the forefront of the electric vehicle (EV) power revolution and is primarily used in Automotive BEV & PHEV drive train systems - they place IGBT & SiC packaged devices on a daily basis.As part of the Power Electronics (PE) Department, you will support in the design, development and manufacture of components and assemblies including tooling, fixture, and test equipment. Undertaking early-stage product and process development in parallel with emerging technologies and configurations.Primary Roles & Responsibilities
  • To become familiar, progressing to expert, in production engineering manufacturing methods with hands-on build and testing of prototypes To support and maintain product test and verification activity across full development life-cycle, including measurement analysis and reporting.
  • To apply and maintain quality and to optimise engineering processes and practices for the manufacturing of products in line with company and international quality standards
  • To provide professional and technical expertise and support the EV team to support customers and supply chain to meet department and company objectives.
  • Develop professional and personal skills through education, training, and development within the team and externally
Technical Knowledge/Qualifications
  • Qualified to HND level or equivalent as a minimum in mechanical, electrical or production engineering (a degree in an engineering discipline preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years industry experience in a relevant discipline or high technology industry.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of CAD modelling and creating detail drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to analyse functional requirements and apply appropriate design criteria, process and tolerance to meet specification
  • Good working knowledge of Engineering manufacturing processes and their selection to meet product design requirements
  • Experience of planning and prioritising personal workload
  • Capable of supporting concept development through the use of ’Design of Experiment’ practice.
  • Familiarity and having prior engagement with root cause analysis, using problem-solving techniques, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of quality standards ISO9001, IATF16949 and IPC would be advantageous.
  • Experience of dealing with customer and supplier related issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Computer literate and adept with Microsoft office toolset
