Job Description

We have an immediately available role for a Mechanical Assembly Technician based at the plant in Peterborough.

This position is permanent working a 37.5 hours per week monday to Friday

The salary will be beteen £24,000 and £28,000 and also offers overtime. There is a need to be flexbilble with overtime as sometimes it will be necessary to be carried out same day.

The overview of the role:
The mechanical assembly technician is responsible for the on-going maintenance of a large ion exchange water treatment plant as well as for mobile units.

So what will you be doing?

The refurbishment and fabrication of company parts and specific equipment

Facility maintenance tasks

Working individually or within a team of qualified fitters, fabricators/welders and electricians

Carrying out calibration and validation on instrumnets

Using and creating safety, risk assessment

Carrying out regular housekeeping checks on the site

Participate LEAN/KAIZEN activities on the shop floor

Following general EHS standards and suggest possible improvements

Work overtime during the evenings/mornings and weekends when required to do so

To carry out this role you will need the following?

Mechanical assembly experience
Experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings
Previously worked in Industrial setting, assembly environment or another operational role
Strong EHS and Quality compliance awareness

Highly desirable skills:
MIG and/or TIG Welding experience
Plastic welding knowledge
