Job Purpose

We are looking for a proven M&E Maintenance shift engineer to join our building services team, based near Ilford.

Working as part of the Shift Maintenance Team, you will be required to work 12-hour day shifts on a shift pattern that has an average working week of 38.5 hours, participating in site wide maintenance and reactive tasks, that will utilise both your electrical knowledge and mechanical awareness.

Responsibilities
  • You’ll work in the team to maintain this critical environment, performing PPM, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works, investigations/repairs on, the Low Voltage electrical, building services, fire & security, BMS and HVAC systems.
  • Service automatic control devices related to the building services plant and equipment.
  • Carry out electrical, mechanical and system checks associated with maintaining a compliant environment in the relevant areas in accordance with current legislation.
  • Use test and monitoring equipment for the purpose of maintaining engineering system operational performance and to aid fault diagnostics and repair.
  • Interrogate and adjust systems to maintain correct operation of plant and equipment.
  • What We Are Looking For
    • Proven experience in a similar role in electrical or M&E maintenance.
    • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (including recognised apprenticeship) with either an electrical or building services bias.
    • Working knowledge of other building services and trades.
    • Excellent team working and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Due to the role being based in a hospital, the candidate will need to pass a DBS check .
    • Experience of complex electrical installations including UPS and Generators.
