Following our commitment to invest £12.5 billion in low carbon projects over the next 5 years, we have significant growth plans and are well on our way to achieving our ambition to build a world that’s more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come.Join us on our journey to net zero and help us power change.About The RoleBase Location: Glasgow or PerthSalary: £44,100 - £66,100 + Car Allowance + Performance-Related Bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options availableWhat is the Role?The role is responsible for managing multiple projects from design through to delivery handover, including managing the daily activities of internal and contractor resource, as well as project documentation, financial reporting, process management and escalation management to appropriate standards.The role will be expected to liaise with and direct professional, technical and consultancy teams working on behalf of the Efficiency Team and Property Projects, including external and/or internal Project Managers, Consultant Engineers, Architectural Services, Cost Consultants, Contract Administrators and CDM Advisers.The Post Holder Will Be Accountable For The FollowingManage the delivery of mechanical, electrical, Building Energy Management and energy efficiency projects;Delivery of projects related to low voltage (LV) supplies including electric vehicle (EV) charging, heat pumps and small scale generation such as solar PV generation;Project delivery in accordance with SSE processes and procedures including project structures, controls and governance, change control, risk management, stakeholder communications and reporting;Project management including design, evaluation, budget management, financial reporting, commercial relationships, stakeholder engagement, adherence with SSE’s procurement and supplier engagement , contract negotiation, risks and issues management;Producing key project management documents including Project Management Plans, Monthly Reports, Risk Registers and the Pre-Construction Information;Monitoring project compliance with the planning consent and conditions, UK legislation, CDM Regulations 2015 and SSE safety, health and environment policies and procedures;Assessing, monitoring and checking external specialist consultant designs on larger M&E, energy efficiency projects, larger projects and refurbishments;What do I need?To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:Demonstrable construction project management skills and be educated to degree level in a construction related discipline or have substantial experience within a construction project management environment.Ability to produce accurate and timely project progress reports that clearly articulate project progress, risks, issues, mitigation, finance update and provides senior management with the relevant level of assurance in terms of project delivery and governance arrangements.Experience/technical knowledge of carbon reduction opportunities assessments and/or energy audits. Energy consumption analysis experience. Life cycle costs analysis experience. Knowledge of EU and UK Energy Efficiency legislation.Experience in project delivery in-line with the RIBA Plan of Work and retain or working towards a recognised project management qualification i.e. Prince 2. Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of construction contract management contracts (NEC 3 in particular) and administration of these.An exceptional understanding of construction related SHE requirements, including CDM regulations.About Our BusinessAt SSE, we own more than 500 property assets and several thousand land assets, which are located across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland.
