An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trust as a Matron due to site reconfiguration within the Surgical Directorate and Medical Directorate. You will be joining a supportive team who value the contributions of each team member to help deliver our overall aims and objectives in line with the Trust vision to EXCEL, specifically by leading and managing inpatient services, delivering safe and effective high quality nursing care. The role of the matron is one of a highly visible, authoritative leader working closely with the rest of the Directorate team and especially the Directorate Head of Nursing. If you are a motivated, enthusiastic and an inspiring leader who can be an example to others at all times we want you for this role.

As post holder key duties will include: Ensure delivery of high quality patient-centred care and effective management of resources. This involves provision of clinical expertise, professional leadership, educational/research and operational managerial responsibilities Lead and manage inpatient services, delivering safe and effective high quality nursing care, within available resources. Provide professional advice and support to specialty teams and service line colleagues. Work in collaboration with service users and carers and ensure that all aspects of the Directorates service delivery are underpinned and evaluated by the patients and service users experience Ensure that nursing and professional practice is guided by principles of good clinical practice.

Act as an exemplar and professional role-model in embracing core values of dignity, respect, care and compassion. Ensure completion and monitoring of quality and clinical performance indicators. Be aware of, and keep updated on, wider issues affecting future professional practice in the wider context of the NHS and ensure these are communicated to the members of the team. Provide high visible, authoritative leadership and management to deliver services within an agreed model.

Ensure that the environment in which care is delivered meets national standards and is compliant with all environmental inspections.
