The Person

We are looking for a Materials planner who has held a position of materials planner previously, preferably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (ideally food!)

The Role Responsibilities

  • Schedule and control the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum stock levels
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to the point of receipt/production.
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumption.
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries.
  • Understand and manage risks to minimise the impact on production schedule.
  • Take follow-up actions about material shortages that affect production.
  • Actively contribute to the development and support of material planning processes benchmark against best practices and review ways to make continuous improvements.
  • Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas of improvement.
  • Involvement in the development and testing of Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) Ensure accurate data and processes are in place to drive the right requirements.
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels against agreed target levels.
  • Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability.
  • Work with Finance to develop NWC reporting with agreed inventory value targets.
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
  • Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation.
  • Lead/develop/mentor other Material team members
