Role overview:

The purpose of this role as Materials Analyst is to support customers and manage suppliers ensuring expectations are exceeded. Using MRP data for launched product maintain on site materials at lowest safe level, meeting physical and financial targets, completing cycle counts to maintain accurate stocks.

Plan material requirements for trial builds using the latest engineering BOM and plant consumption data and issue updated trial build schedules to suppliers weekly. There will be the need for you to react to short notice customer changes, working with suppliers and plant to ensure these changes do not adversely affect the company.

This job is based in Redditch, UK

Main Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling of suppliers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Measuring Supplier Performance/Supplier Rating.
  • Supplier Development.
  • Stock record accuracy to be >98%.
  • Cycle counting procedures and maintenance.
  • Controlling Engineering Changes / Effective Date management.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing Department – re: stocking policy/delivery frequency.
  • BPCS Stock holding policy calculation and maintenance.
  • Liaise with Customer Planner Analyst on schedule accuracy and improvements.
  • Inventory reduction management.
  • Monitor and feedback on swings in demand.
  • Obsolescence control and Maximum Residual Authorization
  • Development of Kan Ban and call off systems.
  • Liaise with SQA Department on supplier quality issues.
  • Compliance with TS16949 Policies and Procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement Activity.

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to a HNC standard in a Logistics discipline.
  • NVQ Level 3Electrical or mechanical background
  • Numerical Skills.
  • Experience of MS Excel/MS Word - Office Applications.
  • Can work under pressure in a changing JIT environment.
