The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting a Material Planner to join our clients growing team that work within the automotive industry based in the Llanelli area.Contract: PermanentSalary: £25,000Hours of work: DAYS. Mon-Thurs 8am-4.330pm, Fri 8am-1pmYou will be Responsible for ensuring that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet productionKey Tasks / Responsibilities- Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
- Review customer long term forecasts and communicate demand with the supplier base whilst managing stock of run out parts where necessary.
- Utilise SAP to send material demands via EDI to suppliers where possible
- Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
- Regular and effective communication with internal departments.
- Support the NPI process
- Support internal alert process.
- Active instigation / participation in Continuous Improvement / problem solving activities
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to factory
- Communicate material shortages to the Production team
- Maintain inventory value within Gestamp agreed targets
- Material planning and inventory control.
- SAP (MRP and ERP) experience and Microsoft proficient
- A good interdepartmental communicator that can solve issues systematically & objectively.
- Ability to be organised and deliver against deadline
- Planning and Organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
- Time Management - Effective management of tight deadlines.
- Self drive and tenacity
- Proactive and decisiveness
- Demonstrated material planning success in a fast moving industrial environment
- Business process experience - Proven track record preferred with the automotive sector (possibly 1st tier).
- Strong IT system knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
