Description:
Momentum Recruitment are seeking a Material Handler to join our client’s team in managing the flow of materials and inventory in our manufacturing facility. The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate records and ensuring the safety and security of all materials.

Experience in a similar role is desirable and also FLT experience is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, and verify accuracy of delivery against purchase orders or shipping documents.

  • Move materials and supplies to appropriate locations within the facility, using forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment as needed.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory levels are sufficient to meet production needs.

  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

  • Prepare materials for shipment, including packing, labeling, and documentation.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

  • Identify and report any damaged or defective materials or equipment, and work with the appropriate teams to resolve any issues.

  • Assist in performing cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a material handling or inventory control role.

  • Must be able to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems.
