The marketing team are responsible for generating modern, fresh and culturally relevant omni channel marketing ideas. Bringing campaigns to life from conception to reality. Whether it be large scale global campaigns, the biggest celebrity collaborations or new store activations, the departments main priority is to create ideas through messaging, imagery and motion. We live and breathe our brand and commercial objectives by enticing, exciting and engaging our target consumer. We work on creative concepts for iconic calendar events such as Christmas, Summer, Back to School and beyond.

We’re looking for creative minded, delivery and performance focused individuals to join our inhouse team. You’ll be working with a team of talented brand, campaign and studio-based marketing experts. Working for JD across our brand portfolio including Nike, adidas, Puma, The North Face and Under Armour to name a few. This is an extremely exciting time to join our expanding inhouse marketing team.

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional Marketing Operations Manager, to help in delivering the JD brand’s global marketing vision across the European market. To advance the JD brand, maximising awareness, and connection to the consumers to deliver strategies and initiatives for the region.

This role is responsible for supporting to oversee our yearly marketing program, campaign planning and annual strategic activities, working cross-functionally with our global and local marketing, merchandising, buying and retail teams to develop tools and processes that directly impact our revenue and time-to-market. Other responsibilities include providing guidance and solutions to optimize the way of working across all European marketing teams, go-to market planning, budget management, activities analysis and reporting.

A pivotal part of the marketing team the marketing operations manager will support to manage specific integrated, cross- functional projects from across the marketing calendar, ensuring that the marketing projects are on-brand, planned, managed, and executed in line with departmental objectives and operations meeting equity & commercial KPIS.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and have the capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. It is crucial that this individual be proactive, curious, data-minded, and actively looking for ways we can improve our marketing to impact efficiency and effectiveness.

The JD Marketing team puts the consumer at the heart of what we do to develop campaigns, content, partnerships, activations & events that elevate the JD brand and maximise consumer impact.

What you will be responsible for

  • Support the Head of Operations to develop and improve the overall marketing process in alignment with the HQ marketing team, providing guidance and tools that support the creation, implementation, and reporting of all main initiatives (I.e., yearly country plans, marketing calendar, campaign roll-out, partnership, events etc)
  • Deliver best in class end to end project management across a wide range of marketing projects. From optimising team operations & process to leading major brand campaigns & promotions with hard deadlines. Utilise the relevant methodology for each project & task
  • Cascade and implement ways of working across markets, projects, and campaigns, to promote efficiency and accuracy, with the goal of achieving a seamless approach
  • Cascade and support to deliver a clear go-to-market process
  • Oversee and support the milestone calendar to align with main stakeholders like merchandising and buying teams to have a clear understanding of upcoming trends and product-led opportunities
  • Ensure consistent implementation of strategies and business plans through on going controlling and monitors of market’s performance and results.
  • Coordinate a relevant KPI framework, identify and introduce systems of measuring and evaluating data from marketing performance to produce actionable learnings.
  • Coordinate monthly best-practice reporting, as well as campaign/initiative reporting with clear success measurement and learnings.

What we are looking for

  • Extensive experience of Marketing or Project management experience within Retail, apparel, sportswear, ad agency or relevant lifestyle brands.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to understand and analyse data and produce actionable insights.
  • Proven project management, process building, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Solid business acumen and good understanding of KPIs setting and budget management, Retail experience is an advantage.
  • Previous experience delivering complex integrated plans and campaigns in an international or across multiple markets.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player with solid interpersonal, networking and negotiating skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level verbal and written English.
  • Knowledge of the sports & lifestyle and youth culture is a plus
