The Role
People Management Partners is a Human Resources Consultancy. We work with small businesses to help them grow by making sure they have the right people processes in place. We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to join the team and take day to day ownership of our marketing activities and support the smooth running of our sales processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has some marketing experience to develop their skills and put their own stamp on things. Whilst this is initially a kickstart placement, for the right candidate there is potential for this role to become an apprenticeship and then a permanent member of the team. We are a small team so you will work closely with the HR Support and Consulting teams to learn about HR in small businesses, alongside there being some investment in specific marketing skills training.


Preferably you will be based within a commutable distance to Sevenoaks. Whilst initially the role will be home based we are planning to open an admin office in Sevenoaks later in 2021, where this role will be based. Flexible/remote working will still be available once the admin office is open.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the founder and outsourced Marketing Manager to develop the annual sales and marketing plan
  • Maintain the marketing plans and calendars, supporting their implementation by ensuring deadlines are met
  • Draft content for social, blog posts, the website and mailing list for approval prior to publishing
  • Assist in the production of a wide range of marketing collateral as needed
  • Manage the social platforms ensuring that content is regularly posted and any comments are followed up on
  • Identify opportunities to build an online community of target clients by regularly engaging and commenting on social media groups and forums
  • Maintain mailing lists, marketing contact lists and client database records
  • Manage the email marketing programme
  • Maintain and manage our internal marketing library
  • Coordinate and support both internal and external marketing communications
  • Develop and maintain monthly reporting on marketing activities so we can track performance and make adjustments to the marketing plan
  • Work with the founder to support the sales processes for the business
  • General administrative support as needed


Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Either a qualification in marketing or some previous experience in a B2B marketing role preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) with the ability to build and maintain good relationships at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience of managing multiple priorities
  • An interest in learning about Human Resources and/or small businesses
  • Indesign skills would also be an advantage
  • Self motivated with a proven ability to work independently on tasks
  • Ability to research and write about topics which may be unfamiliar, but with the confidence to ask for help from the internal team when needed.
