We are currently recruiting for a Marketing & Communications Manager to enhance and protect the reputation of ISS UK & Ireland (UK&I) through management of key external communications channels, including press office and other media.

Job Description

As the Marketing & Communications Manager you will support the UK&I Marketing & Communications team and wider Commercial function to deliver on the business’ commercial targets.

In this role, you will be able to manage a number of programmes/projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Part of the job will entail coordinating input from many stakeholders and synthesising into coherent messaging, and delivering these via a variety of channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling inbound press enquiries and coordinating the relevant response, including collating SME input and signoffs
  • Creating business news press releases & stories (new products/services/initiatives, contract awards/extensions, etc.)
  • Coordinating C-suite and other SMEs for content production, event preparation and media interviews
  • Preparing SMEs for media and speaking engagements —supporting the Head of Content & Brand with logistics and briefing documents, e.g., messaging narratives, speaking notes, Q&A preparation, speeches, media training, presentation creation
  • Building relationships with trade and professional publications to drive proactive media opportunities for SMEs and leadership
  • Collating events and networking opportunities from membership/ sponsorship organisations and sharing with relevant stakeholders in the business —BSA, IWFM, CoreNet, DKUK
  • Monitoring social media channels for content that may damage ISS’s reputation, and manage comments as necessary
  • Tracking digital and print media channels to identify trending topics/articles for SMEs and senior leadership to comment on
  • Identifying industry and professional award schemes for which the business should apply, driving submissions from internal stakeholders and promoting results (shortlistings, finalists, wins, etc.)

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Minimum BA/BSc
  • Approx 5 years’ on-the-job experience
  • In-house or agency, working in or with highly regulated businesses
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience creating and executing external communications, and an ability to create compelling messages.
  • A team player with high accountability for own actions.
  • Curious critical thinker — keen to understand the ‘bigger picture’ and gather information / make connections to stay informed.
