Job Introduction

The starting salary for this role is £20,864 per annum (£26,080 FTE) for working 28.8 hours per week.

Surrey Arts has a great opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Assistant with digital experience to use their skills to promote the Surrey Arts brand and help increase the profile of our service.

Surrey Arts is the lead youth music organisation in Surrey, and we provide music lessons, instrument hire, out of school music centres, activities, and ensembles for young people. In addition to the music team, we lead on arts and culture programmes across the county, to inspire our community and raise the profile of the arts.

We are a vibrant, creative, and busy department within Surrey County Council and are looking for an innovative individual who wants to make a difference.

About the role

Working as part of a small team, you will use your understanding of digital marketing to create captivating content and campaigns across the marketing mix. The role will see you responsible for creating new content and updating our website using CMS.

As a Marking Assistant, you will also be involved in broader marketing communications, with emphasis on digital and web development to promote the Surrey Arts brand within schools and the wider Surrey community. Supporting the Business Development Officer, you will take responsibility for specific projects and activities that further raise awareness of the diverse projects that Surrey Arts offers.

The post will involve working from home, from our office in Guildford and attending occasional concerts, workshops and events in Surrey during evenings and weekends.

About you

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your personal statement will clearly evidence:

  • Experience of using web CMS and Adobe graphic packages
  • Proven marketing experience (B2B and B2C)
  • Technical experience in digital marketing practices such as SEO, conversion optimisation/ROI, PPC, and SM content creation
  • Film and video editing experience
  • Solid experience of using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Site Improve
  • Copywriting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
