We are a collection of over 372, 000 minds building the future, one day at a time. Together, we create technologies that take society further.

We’re looking for people with the skills and vision to build a better tomorrow. Join our Digital Industries Division as a Manufacturing Support Engineer and help us re-imagine the world by finding solutions and making the world a smarter place for tomorrow.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Support Engineer, reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, based in the Manufacturing Test Engineering team at Siemens Congleton. The key element of this role is to support production, and participate in continuous improvement of existing manufacturing test solutions to ensure maximum up-time and productivity, whilst coaching technicians to follow in your footsteps.

It’s incredibly important that our people enjoy working here and therefore we take great pride in having a friendly, helpful and engaging culture. We also appreciate that development and training is important to many and that’s why we have a supportive environment which invests in our employee’s development, whether that’s Chartership, training or mentoring.

Change the future with us.

As part of Manufacturing Engineering’s fast-paced and dynamic environment, your primary focus is on the factory. You will work closely with maintenance technicians, mentoring and coaching them to solve challenges in a methodical and logical manner and get production up and running again. The key to this role will be bridging the gap between the manufacturing maintenance team and the test engineering team to help the transfer of knowledge and up-skill existing technicians. The long-term goal is for the Manufacturing Support Engineer is to become a Test Engineer who will design and develop new manufacturing test systems – this will only be a possibility once members of the manufacturing maintenance team have had sufficient mentoring and coaching from you to back-fill the role.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds

You are a self-motivated problem solver and critical thinker that always strives for the best engineering solution. You are autonomous with the ability to take a challenge and break it down into logical chunks in a methodical way; no challenge is too big for you. You communicate effectively and efficiently – speaking in the “nitty-gritty” engineering detail when problem solving, but conversely can keep things top level when discussing concepts or presenting to management. You can manage your time effectively with the ability to multi-task to achieve the requirements of the factory. You are aware of your expertise and weaknesses and are not afraid to admit which is which. You have a growth mindset – you’re always striving to be the best you can be and want the same for others; you are always learning and sharing your knowledge. “We, not I” – you are a team player in every sense and take ownership of your work. When crisis strikes you keep your cool, even under pressure; your initial reaction is to work together to solve the problem. You’re willing to work flexibly, with occasional support outside normal office hours.

Skills And Experience

  • A degree in an Engineering discipline. A HNC, BTEC, HND, with experience in manufacturing or a similar field will also be considered
