Leading Manufacturer of Mixing equipment and Process Plant for the UK and International Market, encompassing Food, Chemical and Mineral industries currently seeks a pro-active project engineer with Mechanical and Process Plant Engineering experience to become a key member of a multi-disciplined project team. You will have 5+ years of commercial experience in this type of role and looking to commit to a family-owned and run company. You will be working alongside a sales team; it is not a direct sales role.

This position will require a clear understanding of the client and in house specifications and drawings, together with analysis of the test results gained from product tests. In addition, you will need to own the detailed cost estimates and contract documentation supporting these proposals to allow the smooth production of the project. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in preparing cost estimates and have strong skills in MS Office with emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook and PDF’s.

You will work closely with the design team and production staff and you will have responsibility for the preparation and presentation of proposals and supporting documentation to Clients. Following the receipt of an order, you will be expected to provide and deliver a world-class product to our clients, within required timescales and budgets.

The position will require on-site commissioning of the finished product to Clients in the UK but is mostly office based in Cheshire.

As part of the continual improvement of the company equipment, the position will be required to support and assist with the development of current and new machinery, to maintain the company sales growth and technical leadership.

We would expect the applicants to have the following qualifications and experience:-

2:1 Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering

5 + years working in mechanical engineering or a process engineering environment

Fully conversant with food and chemical process equipment and control systems

Experience working with UKCA & CE machinery directives

Contract management experience and a clear commercial awareness

Salary Commensurate With Qualifications And Experience

Mon-Fri, office-based at the main manufacturing site in Congleton, Cheshire, plus some travel to visit prospective and current customers.

Holidays 25 Annual Leave + 8 Bank Holidays.
