Scope

We are looking to recruit Manufacturing Operators to work within our cleanroom based in Plymouth, reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor.

Plessey is an embedded technologies developer at the forefront of microLED technology for augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR) display applications. Plessey has recently announced the exciting news that we will be closely partnering with Facebook to help achieve their vision of the next computing platform centred around people.

Plessey is an award-winning provider of full-field emissive microLED displays that combine very high intensity RGB pixel arrays with high-performance CMOS backplanes to produce very high-brightness, low power and high-frame-rate image sources for HMDs, AR and MR systems.

The successful candidates will work a shift pattern of 2 Days (7am - 7pm), 2 Nights (7pm - 7am), 4 off (R13 Rotating shift).

Role
  • Responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of a restricted range of equipment used within manufacturing
  • To adhere to necessary Health & Safety regulations
  • To exercise good manufacturing practices and disciplines
  • To follow documented procedures from printed matter and computer sources
  • To communicate effectively on the status of equipment and materials
  • To work in a clean room environment

Essential Requirements

Personal Attributes/ Skills
  • 5 GCSE’s grade C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • PC Literate
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly
  • High level of accuracy, quality of work and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures accurately
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player and able to demonstrate flexibility towards team goals
  • Ability to undertake shift work (preferably with previous experience)
  • Willing to work in a clean room environment and wear protective clothing and masks

Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in Semiconductor manufacturing
  • ONC or HNC in Electronics/ Electronics Engineering
  • Willingness to take on first aider responsibilities would be desirable
