CNC Precision are currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace Company) £40,000 - £45,000 Per Year Romford General purpose: Manufacturing Engineer The role requires a self-motivated individual with precision manufacturing engineering experience and knowledge of aerospace practices and principles. Comprehensive knowledge and experience of CNC Machining and CAM programming is essential. The role will additionally support root cause analysis of issues and identification of risks to be managed as well as driving improvements in KPI’s such as product yield, cost achievement and working to delivery deadlines. Excellent engineering skills essential. Key deliverables: Manufacturing Engineer-Develop processes and methods to meet manufacturing requirements ensuring lowest cost and highest quality.
  • Own the configuration of all supporting process elements including production routings, tooling, gauges, test equipment, work holding and support CNC programmes.
  • Determine materials and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification at lowest cost to the organisation.
  • Development of transparent cost structures and identification of potential reduction initiatives.
  • Responsible to ensure that projects undertaken fall within budget and allocated timescale.
  • Support the development of documentation to enhance process control.
  • Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) resource to define product lifecycle management activities.
  • Ensure that all engineering process are controlled by the quality management system.
  • Ongoing research into emerging manufacturing and production technology to compliment current and future business strategies. Requirements - experience: Manufacturing Engineer
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Highly capable in machine tool and cutting tool specification and application. Knowledge of precision engineering processes including general machining (milling and turning).
  • Track record of delivering improvements based on the principles of lean.
  • Knowledge of aerospace requirements particularly operating to AS9100.
  • Ability to present and communicate at all levels including the customer where appropriate.
  • Proven experience of working to schedules and the ability to plan personal workloads. Requirements - qualifications - Manufacturing Engineer
  • Educated in Engineering (Mechanical , Manufacturing, Aerospace) to degree / HNC / HND level or equivalent.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing / Production role within a medium / large precision engineering organisation, ideally within an aerospace background. Other points:
  • Previous use and experience of GIBBSCAM.
  • Previous use and experience of SOLIDWORKS.
  • Ability to methodically measure, analyse and present capital opportunities to promote breakthrough unconventional manufacturing / production techniques.
  • Green Belt accredited.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Ability to create CNC Programmes
