Manufacturing Electrical Maintenance Engineer

ASL Technical are working with a manufacturer of advanced plastic, composite products and have an immediate need for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join them on double day shifts. (6:00am – 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00)

Job Function & Key Tasks

To ensure that production facilities can operate at full capacity minimising downtime and ensuring maintenance schedules and completed along with breakdown fixes.

  • Provide reactive breakdown support to all production equipment.
  • Complete planned maintenance tasks on schedule to the desired standard.
  • Install and inspect minor electrical installations.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors when necessary.
  • Record all work on the maintenance work log.
  • Ensuring all activities are undertaken compliant with all Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of job.

Skills and Experience

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will ideally be apprentice trained to NVQ level 3 or equivalent City and Guilds or BTEC qualification.

Understanding and experience of 17th or 18th Edition of BS7671 or 2392 testing would be a distinct advantage.

Previous experience working in a production environment with injection moulding machines or with paint booths would be beneficial.

Specific machine training can be given although knowledge of PLCs, Inverters and other production machinery experience would be advantageous.
