Manager Systems, Network & IT Security EMEA - Baronsmede, Egham, Surrey

Job Description:

• Plan and execute IT Infrastructure projects across all EMEA locations (datacenters + offices) in line with strategy and as required by the business.

• Line manage and coach all direct reports, including all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.

• When required take a hands-on approach to meet requirements needed within EMEA business and the team.

• Motivate EMEA team to manage several tasks simultaneously, work completion on time and to quality expected.

• Build a strong framework of skills and knowledge within team, to include, but not limited to Cloud Infrastructure, Network Infrastructure, Telephony Infrastructure, Virtualization infra implementation and management.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

• Lead, manage and operate internal and external requirements across EMEA, in line with business strategy, timeframes and budget.

• Maintain integrity of infrastructure by rectifying reported issues effectively and correctly within business and/or SLA timeframes.

• Lead to protect the long term innovation and sustainability of our business, by continuously exploring opportunities to maximize and extend the skill set and knowledge requirements held within the team.

• Produce Service Packs and/or fixes for EMEA infrastructure that provide long term protection and technical evolution

• Lead IT Infrastructure solutions within client new and retained business, pertaining to business strategy, security and profit margins ongoing.

• Lead IT Infrastructure within audits pertaining to customer, business, and internal queries, to gain successful outcomes.

• Develop new features according to given projects/requirements, within time frame and to specified outcome, using best price, and relevant effective solution/acclaimed reliable products.

• Provide accurate progress, status and risk analysis and update line manager on a weekly basis.

• Attend planning and variance meetings with management to ensure preparation for upcoming requirements whilst ensuring those in situ are still on track to compete as required.

People Management

• Communicate the performance development process for your team members, agreeing SMART objectives, providing regular progress feedback.

• As a line manager, be the first point of contact for supporting the resolution people issues of any type which arise on your teams. Adhere to HR policies at all times and escalate if required.

• Manage attendance and timekeeping ensuring any discrepancy is either escalated to you, or addressed by your direct reports. Ensure relevant HR policies and procedures are adhered to where applicable.

• Ensure annual leave is managed fairly and appropriately in accordance with business objectives. Ensure adequate cover for team members on leave.

• Provide leadership, and support, demonstrating and coaching your team members towards your role model behaviours.

• Conduct regular staff reviews to feedback on performance and behaviours, recognising and rewarding individuals where appropriate.

Quality and Assurance

• Ensure solutions, hardware are kept up to date and reviewed periodically according to business requirements, adhering to change governance, approval sign off and security processes at all times.

• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly Controls and Checks where applicable. Escalate and remediate control failures if and when they arise.

• Be risk aware, escalating new risks that materialise, aiming to introduce optimised and preventative controls without delay.

• Ensure preventative measures are put in place and must be adhered, to ensure minimal downtime occurrences.

• Review skills matrix to ensure it is kept up to date, ensuring there is enough cover on all processes, identifying and remediating gaps.

• Escalate all system issues and threats to SLA to line management as soon as identified. Work with management to solve problems and manage through to resolution.

• Accountable for review and feedback of errors and losses to the business and implementing preventative measures

General

• Ensure compliance to all controls and contractual deliverables as per customer requirements.

• Adhere to all internal and customer policies as applicable, taking accountability for evidencing compliance during audit reviews.

• Interface regularly with management, internal key employees at all levels, external customer and supplier as required. Demonstrate -

· To perform ad hoc. duties when required in line with Health and Safety, and management level responsibilities.

· The employee is required to undertake any task for which they have been trained, have suitable qualifications and or experience as deemed by a member of management.

Knowledge & Skills Requirement

• 5+ years’ experience working in an IT infrastructure support team leader role.

• 5+ years’ experience of IT infrastructure project planning and management.

· Previous management of third party vendors to deliver agreed work orders.

• Significant knowledge of virtualization in particular HyperV, VMWare ESX technology and SAN storage systems.

• Significant knowledge and experience of configuration of DNS, DHCP, Active directory, Domain controllers, DFS
