The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part Qualified Management Accountant to join our London Bridge Hospital finance team. The role reports to the Assistant Financial Controller and you will work closely with the rest of the team including directly with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, and also with other departments. You will take ownership of the month end balance sheet reconciliations (both assets and liabilities), and the fixed asset reconciliations; preparing and posting the balance sheet side, and also providing commentary on the P&L impact of the postings, alongside producing the Excel based reconciliation documents. It is an important role, and key to the month end process. It will also involves working on other areas including internal and external audit, and budgeting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ownership of month end balance sheet reconciliations, assets, liabilities, and fixed assets.
Preparing, reviewing and posting month end close adjustments; including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
Providing commentary on P&L impact of month end postings, as needed.
Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review and sign off in Excel.
Submitting month end adjustment / reports to Corporate team and responding to queries.
Annual budgets; consulting with departments, modelling costs, inputting to system.
Liaising with, and assisting, internal and external auditors.
Continually seeking to review and improve month end processes.
Growing within the role and taking on other responsibilities where possible / ad hoc tasks.
Skills & Experience:
CIMA, ACCA or ACA part qualified ideally. Or AAT qualified.
Ability to build relationships and work with the team and with non-finance departments.
Computer literate including a good knowledge of Excel.
Experience of financial reporting systems and of month end postings / processes.
