Management / Project Accountant- Part Time 16 to 24 hours per week

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a key role within PAR System’s UK operations. The primary responsibilities of the role holder are to provide information that supports decision making, using key metrics for understanding, evaluating and reporting the performance of the company’s operations.

Management Accounts

  • Production of the monthly management accounts and forecasts
  • Ensuring the accounts are accurate and completed in a timely fashion to allow a management accounts package to be produced within the reporting deadline
  • Presentation of Monthly accounts at board meetings with ability to convey the key points and explain their relevance

Statutory Accounts

  • Produce year end and statutory accounts package for audit on a timely and consistent basis in line with legislation.
  • Provide support and coordination to external annual audits
  • Maintain knowledge of changes and upcoming legislation (Corporation Tax, VAT, etc.), ensuring the business remains compliant and up to date.
  • Produce P11d Reports, Personal Expenses, reports, etc.

Capital Equipment Register

  • To Maintain and update the Company Capital Equipment Register
  • To manage CAPEX and R&D Expenditure and accounting processes
  • Reconciling and resolving and queries with equipment
  • Stock taking and revaluation

Forecasts and Budgeting

  • Liaising with Managing Director to produce sales pipeline forecasts
  • Collating and facilitating production of a Monthly report
  • Assist the team with preparation of 3 / 5-year Strategic Plans
  • Participation and supporting with the Annual budget preparation, monitoring, analysis / reporting on variances

Account Reconciliation

  • Online reconciliation of invoices and bills in Xero- reporting variances
  • Ensure debtors and creditors are balanced monthly to the G/L
  • Liaising with accounts and admin personnel
  • Ensuring debtors and creditors are brought into compliance

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for this Management/ Project Accountant role will have:

Education

  • Fully Qualified Accountant ACCA, ACA or CIMA or be working towards this.

Experience

  • Relevant accounting experience within a project or manufacturing finance environment
  • High degree of business awareness and knowledge of financial planning and reporting

Skills

  • Knowledge of project and management accounting, standard costing and variance analysis
  • Experience of Xero is desirable, but skills are readily transferrable from other ERP’s
  • Demonstrable experience in finance and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to problem solve
  • Advanced understanding of spreadsheets and Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts
  • Understanding of finance regulations and legislation
  • Knowledge of business strategy and planning
  • Analytical, Critical thinking and Organisational skills,

This Part time Management/ Project accountancy role based in Lillyhall Workington, can offer a salary of up to £30k FTE. We are seeking a staff member to work between 16 and 24 hours per week and offer a highly flexible way of working with the potential to work remotely when suitable.
